Wide-angle, or double cardon???

(1/2) > >>

Rasbo:
Could some one please tell me the benefits of double cardon props over wide angle yoke props?? need longer props as just lifted my 90 3"s and wondering if the price of double cardons is worth it??

Thanx

Wolfie:
Lifting the car increases the angles that the propshaft ujs work at in the usual operating condition (driving along the road), this greatly increases the loading on the joints, and consequently reduces their life quite dramatically.

A wide angle propshaft will do noting to cure this effect, though it will prevent the joint binding on full articulation (and the likely catastrophic failure)

A DC propshaft, by virtue of the twin UJs, reduces the angle that the UJs are working at and therefore prolongs their life.

There are a load of threads on this subject that go into more detail, do a search on "double cardon" (set to all terms) if you want more details.

Oh yes, shop around propshaft manufacturers as you'll be able to get one for a lot less than the off the shelf price.

Regards

Wolfie

Also try correct spelling of Cardan, and probably worth trying Carden as you see this used quite a lot too.

As Wolfie says, don't go by price of the likes Scorpion Racing etc, speak to
 either..
