Crankshaft pulley bolt

(1/3) > >>

Mutz:
Ok simple matter is it wont come undone.

Tried it in the 90; as per haynes instructions, plus some one pressing hard on the foot brake, and rear wheels being chocked.Wouldnt move.

Got it out and locked the flywheel tried shocking it, and a 4foot scaffold bar on a rachet and a solid bar, bent them both!!!!!!!

Any more ideas or has anyone else had problems.

its on a 300tdi.

mmgemini:
I use a ring spanner and "flog" the nut undone.

davidlandy:
I undone mine by putting a knuckle bar on the nut then a scaffold bar onto the knuckle bar then tucked it under the nearside chassis.

fuel pump wire off

foot on brake and crank it over a turn ...bingo

Hangover:
Try 3/4 drive socket and bar plus scaffold bar,1/2 too flimsy.

easy way of undoing them

1/2" drive breaker bar, fit socket onto end....then put the breaker bar underneath the chassis steering box end so as the breaker bar cannot rotate around
disconnect the fuel stop on the inj pump
then using the torque of the starter, flick the key ( there will be a thud of the breaker bar) and the shock will free the bolt off
just let it crank over a couple of times...saves undoing it by hand

just same as what dave said really
