i have just fitted flexi 50mm arches  with 235/85 and they look really good

Roccia make the narrower ones as well, they are the "Classic" ones: http://www.roccia.co.uk/acatalog/Discovery__wheel_arch_flares.html
But you'll be doing more than a Camel Cut to fit these!

This is how much I cut out of the rear arch to fit the fiberglass ones from Devon 4x4 and if you've got a 5-door then it's a bit harder as you're cutting into the frame of the rear passenger doors.



Neil, I thought you were going for wider tyres, or is that next on the list?  :D
