td5 2002 model wont rev!!

hi there my mates td5 2002 facelift model disco wont rev past 3000 rpm,t,the airflow meter has been changed,all turbo and intercooler hoses checked, and most things you can check with out a diagnostic kit,any ideas,cheers gus

not the dreaded oil finding its way down the injector loom to the ecu is it ?. cheers alan.......

Certainly sounds like the ECU is limiting the revs...

no thats been checked,as that happened to mine,but that only caused a misfire,is it safe to swap ecu s,over mine is 2001 model,to see if its that,gus

Not sure that will work - the injectors (not to mention the alarm/immob) are all coded to the ECU.
