it says if anyone has lost the item of there vehical to come forward i doubt that someone will very much but if someone did they could be charged fr it right???

Thats a very big shackle.....i'd be looking at the MOD tanks to find the one with a missing shackle rather than lorries or 4x4's.

Yup......

Insecure Load maybe! (I know someone who copped this for lack of number plate on trailer.... when he claimed it was there when he started the journey.

Actually, it has rather a nice size for lifting. Out of the shackles I use for lifting with the HIAB, that would be medium to large size.

As for reporting to the police, I very much doubt anyone would come forward, that assuming they actually know they lost a shackle. In some cases, you carry around so much tackle, that the only way of knowing if it is all there is to pull out the certificates and do a full inventory. And then you could have left it on site, or someone could have nicked it, etc.., etc...
