that is correct.
their motto is:

its not a race its a rally

This may be true, but how many of the drivers can actually cope with the cars they're in?
Are they pushing them too much for their own levels of skill & reaction-times?

Is it just a case of it you can afford the entry-fees & support/accomodation costs, you're in??

well your right about the first bit... who knows? i dont know if they can cope with them? who knows?

the second bit... not anyone can enter. you need to submit to the gumball and they need to see and scruitineer your car first. if they like it and it meets the rules and regs and you are lucky enough to be one of the 120 cars and you have £45,000 to enter then yes, you are entered into it. but it is down to the gumball if they want you in or not.

So it's a race then?

Devon-Rover:
You can come last in a car treasure hunt! should they be banned too?

IIRC one gumball had a 2CV in it?

HSimmo:
The jackass boys did it in a motorhome once too.

I think they've been lucky up until now that none of the competitors have been killed or seriously injured, such is the nature of the event. There have been some huge crashes!

Its unfortunate, but i hope it doesn't stop future gumballs. Its an awesome event.
