Another Days Work - 2" Closer To The Stars

Telaren:
This morning I started to fit my +2"  Springs and shocks

Took rear wheel off only to find a 5" long hole in the chassis

Jacked body and dropped axle emough for spring to drop out  :D

Out came the welder.  1hr later all done and sealed

Back to Suspension upgrade

Off came the shocker.  Out came the new one (Dam NO Bushes)

Old shocker back on. Shiny Yellow spring in place.

Bolted up and MT Tyre Put on

Did same on other side, Luckily NO probs  :)

Also fitted new extended bump stops

Started on front.  NIGHTMARE

Had to cut nut of top of shocker and cut bottom of shopcker to get off  :x

With the help of a long piece of 3x2 forced axle down and juggled the spring and shocker into place - It took several attempts

I didnt want to remove the turret bolts as I have new rings but no nuts  :(

Re built it all back up and did same on other side.

After several hours and most of my tool box strewn over the place this is what I ended up with

Took it straight down one of my local lanes and it was spot on.

If bolts came undone this would of been a quick job but no such luck

Need to buy some more cutting discs though

Dude, Sweeet.

guardian sliders?

What they like to fit?  Just I'm very interested in a  set - just need to convince SWMBO that I NEED them.......

Nice job on the lift though.

Cheers Mate

The rock sliders are fairly easy to fit although 2 people would make it easier.

I fitted mine on my own with the help fron 2 trolly jacks and a bottle jack.

The tyres I am ruuning are Insa Saharas 235/70/16 on 7x16 modular rims with about 30mm offset (compared to standard steels)

The only problem I found is that with some drstic articulation the tyre catches the bottom part of the body on the rear.

Before I lifted it, the tyres would cut into the body.

I am still going to have to fettle it a little

Cheers Taz
