well i,ve got it home and had some time to kill so i pulled the head off to see whats wrong, and its trashed the head :roll: seems one of the hoses failed and blew out the coolant causing it to overheat and do the head, it also dropped a part of a valve seat into No2 which ended up embedded in the head but has done remarkably hardly any damage to the top of the piston . so now either i need to find a good secondhand head, do they exist? sell as it is or break it or get a new head,i dont really want to spend loads on it though :?

That head is quite nastily mashed.  Has anyone ever tried TIGing the head up and skimming it? might save the price of another head.
