Help were can I buy Defender Galvanised Chassis from
tonycougar:
I tried the second hand route. They are like hens teeth, I ended up spending the money I was going to use for a winch. Nevermind maybe next year for a winch.
smo:
Richards or Paddocks both sell galv ones, or of course Landrover themselves ;)
Litch:
As LR have never galvanised a production Defender chassis I can't see why they should sell them as a spare part?
The only two names that spring immediately to mind are Richards and Designachassis, I have it in my head that there is a third manufacturer but I can't think of the name at the moment and may be wrong. I would be fairly certain that any retailer would source theirs from one of these manufacturers as it is a limited market. Of course there are people who manufacture space-frame & tubular chassis but you are entering a different field then.
You say you would be willing to move engine mounts around but on a galv chassis that would compremise the integrity of the finish and while you could make a good job of treating the areas where the welding took place you would still have areas thet would be susceptable to corrosion in the future.
MuddyMachine:
That would be Marsland But I think they only do series chassis

There has been a couple of galvinised ones one eBay over the last month
Litch:
Thanks for that.
It was begining to annoy me and I would have had to look through the magazines until I found it before I could have settled!
