Work lights - where to put em ?

<< < (3/5) > >>

Horness:
Mine was mounted on the top rung of the rear door ladder.  Wiring went down under the door handle, and through the rear door.

Just another option.  Only thing is, with the rear door open, your light moves with it.  Just depends on what you want it for.

If you could get part numbers for the bits from Halfords I'd be interested too. Want to mount a set of work lights on the back of my Disco, and don't really want to start drilling holes in the bodywork, leaks enough as it is thank you very much! :P

Ok dokie, you will have to wait a couple of weeks until I get back to my parents as they are stuffed in the bottom of a box in my workshop there.

Send us a PM in a week or twos time and I should be at home, so remind me.

Nevermind, popped into my local Halfords today and got myself the heavy duty legs and bar. The bar itself was a fiver, but the legs were the expensive bit at £35. Nice and solid now I've got 'em on now though. Will be getting the same again when they're back in stock so I've got a bar towards the front for carrying ladders etc for work.

Only thing is the bar sits quite high, so gonna knock up some brackets to bring the worklights lower down.

Thats what I had to do with mine, otherwisde they were a little bit too vulnerable to passing branches. If they are the same type as mine and hollow, you can run the wiring down the bar and then sort of into the clamp to protect it.
