lampers do it at night:
took my truck on a run down m1 for work as van was playing up
245 miles cost me £60.surely that anit right, thats 17 mpg aprox  :shock:
i know the mt tyres dont help   :(
just wondered what other peoples trucks are doing to the gallon
or what the problem could be?

i have a diesel surf and it cost 60 to fill from red approx, out of that i can get aroud the 400 or 500 kilometres out of it approx 300 mile, depending on driving style and speed and also town or motorways.

different factors can be the serviced state of your engine, the tyres you use, the pressure in the tyres, the quality of the fuel, and a whole host of other things

i have noticed a small difference after using redex, i put it in about once a month, as directed,  some reccomend that if you get down to red and chuck a bottle in and blast it down the motorway that will clean otu the engine also....

I've got a mk3 2.4 and that exactly what I'm getting from a tank.

Thats why I'm doing a V8 conversion on her. I'm hardly gonna lose any fuel economy, the fuel is now cheaper and I can double the horsepower AND get a great noise.

Apart from the cost and work, there are no downsides!!

i have  a 91 2.4 surf, i have recently put mt's on and have found no noticeable difference in mpg. i do try and stay at 100 kmph;s with the ect switched off, and this is giving me about 21 mpg.(mind you soon as i hit the mud i think i get about 16 mpg :wink:

my 2.4 93 surf is doing about 23mpg on m/ts and will if run on veg oil
