TD5 Insurance...

sas pinkie:
So, I I have (what we all seem to agree is a good deal in varying degrees) my TD5 110, where do I insure it.

Done the usual online checks, most companies dont list a 3 door 110....

Cheapest so far is £291 from Admiral for a 27 year old 6 years NCB domestic and pleasure only and it is stored on a drive over night. RH19 area........

Is this a reasonable price or can I get lower. Where have you insured yours???? :D

Tinks:
:D  :D   Seems alright to me i pay three times that on my 200tdi!!!

SteveG:
Try NFU too. I've found Adrian Flux to be the cheapest but the can be a pain to deal with and charge an admin for any modification added in between renewals which can add up.

Cheers

Steve

kevinf:
would agree with the nfu suggestion
insured with them for a 2nd year, cost less than the 1st year even with
3 point for speeding!

I'm with Greenlight - they've stopped covering 4x4's now, but have to honour existing policies.

I pay £450 for my 110 Td5, and that includes Class 1 business use - it may seem a bit steep, but all the other places I tried (NFU, NU etc) didn't like the winch - and either refused to insure or loaded the premium to silly money.

I also had trouble when phoning round for quotes to get the peeps on the phone to acknowledge that you could have a 3 door Defender - a lot of companies call them vans...............which reminds me, the Post Office wrote to me recently, asking if I'd like to renew my 'van' insurance with them (cheeky beggars, calling it a van !!), maybe give them a go ?
