changing a oil pump on 2.5td

my bro in laws g plate 2.5td has low oil presure when hot im guesing that its gona be a replacment pump ive never worked on one of these engines and was wondering if it is a pig of a job or a straight forward one?

sure its not oil to thin ?
u rigged a pressure guage up to see what it is pumping exactly ?

if no joy, need remove the sump to access it

I agree a pressure gauge would help.

Could also be worn bearings, but then you'd probably hear then rattle when it was cold.

if was me, id be trying fresh thicker oil before ripping it to shreads,
and stick a new filter onit aswel
and then take it from there
