 Id be carfull going down that route , Kenlowe dont recomend fitting an electric fan when towing a van of that size, speaking from expierience.... :oops:

Eh, then what are they doing advertising in the Caravan Club magazine, practical caracvan etc etc.

Must admit though, when I rang them for advice their guy talked me out of spending money too :? but that was to make sure I needed one before I bought it. turned out it could have been the timing was out in my case.

But surely a thermostatically controlled fan is going to work better than the viscous unit, especially when the later gets a bit tired.

Land Rovers back on the road and is as smooth as ever well chuffed 8)  8)  now running turner engineering performance head 8)  and no viscous fan 8)  All seems happy in the camp 8)  (HUGE sigh of relief!!!) unfortunatly the bank balance has took one mother of a dive :cry:  :cry:

Yep, been there! :D

I had a very hot running petrol G-wagen, took it to a well known G-wagen 'specialist' . shelled out for new rad and waterpump. still overheated, changed the viscous fan, still overheated: he diagnosed faulty headgasket :(

I had had enough by then, took it away and fitted wo leccy fans as a backup, still no good.

Gave up and booked it into local backstreet garage with instructions to change headgasket.
They rang back within a couple of hours to say it was ready and all they had done was set the timing correctly
Saved me lots of money :wink:

hasn't overheated since, just wish I had gone there straight away.....
