ffr charging question

Should i have a red charge light when the ignition is on with engine not running? i guessing i should but not sure, if so where does its feed come from?

Yes you should, like any vehicle does, its to do with the switched feed going to the alternator
Not sure on the details of the ins and outs though, I'm sure somebody can explain it, in fact I think I read about it on another thread not long ago

I fully understand the standard charging system, being a mechanic for the past 20 years, the batterys are charging fine at 26 volts , just no warning lamp, but thanks anyway, will follow the wiring and work it out 8)

Not someting silly like the bulb is it, have you checked for a voltage at the bulb, or a damaged earth wire
looking at the wiring diag for a 24v, ign light is fed from fuse point 5, with a white wire
the other side of the light should have a brown/yellow wire going to the generator panel, it passes through a snap connector that changes the wire to yellow just before the panel, that is connected to terminal E on the panel
what are the ammeters reading?

if you have the user manual its on page 116
the panel is in the rear body at the right hand front corner and is bolted to a bracket attached to the body side above the wheel arch, cast ally box with 2 large multi connectors in it
