alarm problem
(1/1)
chuggaman:
tried to start my disco today but it had a completly flat battery.Charged it up and tried to start it.
For some strange reason the factory installed alarm and immobiliser(i presume) has started to work.!!!!
When i unlock the door the alarm sounds (via horn)and indicators flash.
i get ignition lights but it is immobilised.i have never had a keyfob for it.
any ideas
thanks
mike
Range Rover Blues:
Easiest way, buy a S/H alarm control with a key fob.
Otherwise you need one of those alram specialists who advertise in the LRO, remote key wwere helpfull when I needed a second keyfob and I believe they do have a solution.

Range Rover Blues:
Once you have an alarm with 1 keyfob you can program a second keyfob to it (I don't remember how but it's on the rave CD and takes you and a mate). but as far as I'm aware the alarm will reset itself (as you found) once disconnected and as long as you have the keyfob you can then dissarm it.
You could just pull the alarm out altogether but I recon it's more work to rewire the car than fit a S/H alarm

Can't you disable the immobiliser using the key in the driver's door to go through a sequence of locks and unlocks? You need to know your code number - which I'm guessing you might not have.
I had to do this when I had a mislock and the blasted car immobilised itself for 30 minutes. It's not difficult just tedious!
