way2deep:
i must admit i didn't consider taking floor out don't know how easy that is.

MUSKIE:
no i dont yet, saves draining fuel and trying to undo impossible to undo bolts though.

MUSKIE:
had a quick look and i think i can cut a hole in the rear floor nice and neat to allow access to pump. then fabricate something to recover floor.

Hi mines got a nice square hole cut in the floor.Previous owner did this, must be easier than removeing tank.Make sure you seal the hole well after.Mine lets quite a bit af water in when off road.
Cheers Paul

Sorry if I'm preaching to the choir here, but a couple of thoughts....

When cutting, don't use anything that is likley to create sparks / heat...  you are directly above the fuel tank

Also, if you are thinking of using something like a jigsaw, make sure you don't use a big long blade....  the last thing you want is to make holes in the top of the tank.
