V8 manifold gaskets.....

(1/3) > >>

Thrasher:
Can you swap them in situ? The rearmost one on the drivers side of Piglet is blowing - and it's annoying me.

I'm loath to have the lot dropped tho ... so any hints?

Bobtail:
There are two ways the manifold can be held on..........

1- With nuts the heads have studs in them (will have to take off manifold)

2- With bolts straight into the heads (yes you can but its a bit of a fiddle)

I woulld personnally loosen all of them and change them all

But thats just me

Good luck :?  :)

Thrasher:
It's a 4.6 V8 so it is bolted - with individual gaskets per 2 bolts...

Skibum346:
Thrasher... I managed this on our RRC 1994 3.9efi. Replaced them with the double gaskets... one gasket per two exhaust ports. It was fiddly as hell and there were times I was preying for supermans fingers... but I got it done in the end.

Thrasher:
Right ..... now that's established ... anyone any good at doing this sort of thing and live near Northampton! ;-) Beer is on tap lol
