Just got my new DH Bike :)

SWMBO & I were talking last night & I said I'd been in Evans, she even suggested we get a pair of MTBs :shock:
So, should I get a Trek?, or a decent Kona?

I don't want namby-pamby full suspension. I may consider front, if it's a lot more rigid than the early Rock-Shox (they were terribly flexible)
Pace forks & Manitou were considered the best when I was riding MTB

I've got some photos somewhere of Avery trying his 'reverse wheelie on a MTB Tandem (ie; where he balances it & pushes himself backwards with a foot on the front wheel)


Does anyone remember his 'team' called 'Hot Pies' (in tribute to Ot Pi?) & the Geordie predialection for the meat & pastry offering?
Plus their sponsorship by Been-bag clothing & ETTO helmets, & the ears they wore on the holmets??
(I've got a picture of SWMBO -that could be scanned- wearing one of those helmets, complete with ears, before she got a Bell Image 2)

Personally I prefer the Konas, though the last bike I bought fully built up was a Specialized.

My last MTB was a Pace Research

A friend currently has a Kona (don't know what model?), but he races 'Experts' with it , if that's still the correct terminology?

But them again, he's had; (that I know of &  not in order)

Some of the Scott's are nice bikes. If I wasn't quite the big pie-eater that I am I'd quite fancy one of their racier models meself.
