Bush Tucker Man:

--- Quote from: "strapping young lad" ---there's a brit called Steve Peat who is current world DH champion i believe and if you youtube for him you see why he is that good..
--- End quote ---

Have you heard of Jez Avery?
He used to be very good before he transferred to trials bikes

Then there's Ot Pi (Scandinavian?), I've seen him at the Sheffield Arena, when he was a warm up for the World Indoor Trials Championship.
Amazing!!

Sample (best with sound turned off!!)

strapping young lad:
the ot pi name rung a bell as did avery.

very very gifted people!

ive seen a couple of people on trials bikes round here in chorley using the flower beds and park benches to show off, however showing off MUST be accomplished successfully in full view of rush hour traffic cos if you fall off EVERYONE NOTICES!

one guy tried to back wheel jump from one bench to another and mis judged and ended up singing soprano! ;)

narked:
Heh, talking of Steve Peat, was watching one those outtakes programmes on tv a couple of years back, was a clip from a news story about him. The idea was he was supposed to ride down this slight slope on a field, and skid to a halt by the presenter. Would have been alright, apart from him falling off! :P

"Downhill World Champion Falls Off Bike On Slightly Slopey Field!"

Got a DVD somewhere about DH riding techniques, taught by Peaty and a few others, some of the stuff they pull off is mental.

CJ:
Blimy, never thought i would start reading about Dh on here lol

Can anyone remember the name of the guy who used to ride trials for Orange ?  flippin amazing rider but i cant remember his name !

We used to have one of the best Dual corses down here at newnham park, event held every year, than they stopped cos the local res thought it was too noisey      my missis stopped me riding as i spent too much time in hospital for trying silly things

CJ:
ohh and on the subject of ultamte rides, anyone heard of a company called  Brooklyn?

24inch wheeled monster DH bikes - that would be my choice
