Car washing
V8MoneyPit:
Just sitting here reading Practical Classics magazine (OK, it's a quiet morning, everyone up town doing Christmas shopping!). There is a letter saying that it is illegal to hand wash a car in Germany. It is apparantly because the car washes use recycled water. When will this one hit the UK, I wonder?
I somehow think the car wash owners would not like us turning up after a particularly muddy day out..... might clog their drains
Range Rover Blues:
Can't remember where it happened but back when car washes first started using recycled water, car owners noticed heavy corrosion on their cars. It was some time before the two were linked and when investigated the recycled water contained more salt than the salt bath used for accelerated corrosion testing!
SAVE WATER! dilute it!
fesuvious:
seven trent want to ban us using fresh water and a brush (no chemicals) to wash our commercial vehicles (normal road use) on the grounds of pollution !!!
I asked if the same would apply if I washed my car in the same place with just fresh water - they said yes !!!!
the worlds gone mad

And I just LOVE the way we have to pay them to take away our nice, clean rainwater then pay again to get it back full of c**p!

There was a comment in another post:
If £1 provides water for an entire African village for a whole year, why does the water board charge me £30 a quarter for my 3 bed semi???
When it comes to quality of water, I'm with you. I'd far rather drink rainwater than what comes out of the tap. There are times we can smell the chlorine while running the tap.... and as for the taste :-&
Might as well go and drink the local swimming pool. There is less chlorine in that!
