Defender handbrake adjustment

Yeh you may have snapped the cable, i did one at work with a snapped cable, take the rubber gaitor off your handbrake and undo the split pin and take the pin out, then pull the cable and if it pulls out ya need a new un.

is it sorted? if not the reason mine wasnt working was the output shaft from the transfer box was leaking ep90 into the handbrake drum causing it to be completly useless. first off i changed the output shaft  oil seal but turned out the shaft its self had a groove worn into it so landed up replacing that a few weeks later

Not just a couple of hours then? I must have done something wrong (or right) when I did mine as a new cable, shoes and cleaning of the expander unit was all completed inside of 2-hours.

indeed i did all mine and it really is not a very difficult job,
