Well, got some more advise from a friend who works with solicitors.
Turns out all above is correct.
So, I went to see the "repair garage" & he was very reasonable. We had a chat, I said I'm not prepared to pay then try get it back from sales garage, he understood. He was not going to let new parts leave with my vehicle, I understood. As it stands now he is going to remove new parts & let me have Disco back, then I can take my grenade launcher to the sales garage! He is also going to "Jot down" (his words) the faults & the fact that these were present before warranty was up.
All smooth so far.
