Need to test my winch, its a warn 8000, it has an earth on the end cap, a positive also on the end cap (underneath) and two solenoid connections on the main body. I have just stripped it and put it togeteher, if i connect it to the battery using the + and the -, it sparks (possible shorting) how can i test it simply, as i cannot be fussed to wire up the solenoids etc, and i may be selling it as long as it works.
