Diff Lock Problem

<< < (3/3)

Berliner Beer:
well its been a couple of weeks and i have taken the rubber gators of the sticks and the plate at the base of the diff lock stick. Upon peering inside (dark & oily) couldnt see anything unusual. Then again I have never looked before! any tips?

Well my camera is [!Expletive Deleted!] aswell. I have however emptied most of a can of WD40 on and around the various rods and moving parts and have just kept moving the diff lock stick. IT seems to be engaging and staying there! I guess everything had seized up. Thanks for everyones advice!

Hangover:
Ok i had the exact problem, the way i cured it was by locating the small bar which joins the lever to the gearbox casing, through use this bar  bends and has to be tapped with a hammer to knock it straight again, only a small amount of movement on this bar makes all the difference, honest.

Dave B:
Series LR's DO have a diff lock, just that they do not have a diff there to split the drive when it's unlocked!  Hence, 2WD only....

Depends on your point of view I guess...   ;-)
