SOunds interesting.  I'm still arguing with the insurance about RRR as the wife fancies a Dakar.

Got any pictures of yours yet?

That car looked nice, was it a bit beyond repair underneath or did you buy it specifically as a donor?

the picture does a lot for it but its not that bad, I bought the kit for £1400(still in wrappers) and he threw in the rangie aswell, it was a trade in mot failure and he needed the space, happy days,
needs exhaust, starter motor, hub seals, battery and brake pipes

Sorry mate, I did not read the post properly. You could always plonk my V8 in it and sell the 200 tdi on. The V8 is a 3.5efi that has compression problems (I think bent valves from hydraulic lock). It has a new 3.9 camshaft, tappets and timing gear.

thanx but I already have a disco 3.9 and that gives me more grief than I need

and with the wieght reduction should shift a bit

thanx anyway

You can buy the kit new from blitz, but sometimes they come up for sale part finished realy cheap.
They use the chassis and bulkhead of the range rover then you fit the roll cage and then three pannels fit to that and your done.
unfortunatly the cage is not msa spec but it doesnt take a lot to rectify this

Yup all you need to do, is turn the out riggers into box section  ie weld a plate along the bottom of the out rigger so that is enclosed this is only for the main hoop. The rule is the roll cage has to be attached to the chassis. If you want to put it into trials you will have to enclose the fuel tank and lower your seats aswell :D oh if i go above 60 the roof starts to peel of did think about securing it with poppers but you cant or shouldnt drill into the roll cage
