Oily Rear Diff?

Hi All, have found oil? has leaked from the front of the rear diff, seems to come from the joint with the prop.

How could it have happened?
What to do now.?

the oil seal may have gone

not a big job to replace

depends on what it is 200 easy job 300 a bit of a PITA
