Large spare wheel location.

buster uk:
thanks for the replies.

I dont really want to fit a roof rack.

Badgersrover,
I dont understand how  :?  Are you sure its a 85 profile and not a 75 ?
I have a 110 litre gas tank but this only stops me putting the spare in flat on the boot floor. When it sits in the well where they normally go the tailgate upper and lower part wont shut and also the top of the tyre hits the seatbelt reel.Gas tank isnt the problem.

I think i may just have to deflate it until it goes in.I carry an electric compressor and i also have the onboard compressor which used to be used for the air suspension which i have an air line attached to.

I did think of a swing away, does anyone have a picture of one on a range rover ?

cheers
andy

Range Rover Blues:
I think swingaways look ugly, plus they mean drilling the bodywork.  My large spare either goes;
1)in someone alse's car when I'm laning
2) I don't bother, i carry a can of instant tyre fix and if I'm laning I'll nick Tim's spare
3) I rest it on the LPG tank and strap it down, the spare wheel well is handy as a tool box.

iluvmud:
 I have the same problem at the moment its laid down with ammo boxes around for storage and parcel shelf just sat on top only a problem if i have to put somat big and bulky in the back without notice     !!

Pete5844 as was:
Don't put it on the roof I've got a 33/12.5/15 up there and it nearly killed me lifting it down but mines a bobtail so nowhere to put it.Pete

simdeb:
dont use a swing away ok for the road but no good off road smashed all the back panel in on mine when the swing away grounded out best bet is the roof hard work to get it up but you need to put it in the center of the roof , seen one once mounted on the bonet !!!
