hijacking an old post as I've done a search but can't find anything more applicable.

My alloy nuts on a 98 300 tdi appear to have grown or swelled and the standard 27mm socket does not fit them all now.  Rather than just replace with the same, is there a better option out there? If not, where's the best place to get them?

they have the daft shiny metal cap on them which swells up but if you hit the socket on it pushes these back to size may have to use a vice to get them back out

they are a pain in the bum

the old rangie and disco ones did not have this metal cap (unsure if they are same thread but assume they would be?

i usually do them to 120Nm

guess you got a 200 Disco then
