another 110 dash warning light question

(1/2) > >>

Bob696:
On our 110 we occasionaly get a light gently glowing. It is the number 5 in a broken circle ..... What the hell is it?????

Needalanny:
I presume the 110 is the one in your sig?
Sally?

is it genuine V8 camper? what spec etc is it?

What colour is the lamp?

i've never seen the light you describe, but am looking in the cd manuals i have to try find out.

more details appreciated

Matt

Needalanny:
I've just checked through the following owners manuals at the warning light sections:

Defender - English
Defender 50th - English
Defender 99MY - English
Defender 00MY - English
Defender 02MY - English - 2nd Edition
Defender 02MY - English Export - 2nd Edition
Defender - Australian
Defender 99MY - Australian

I cannot find that symbol in any of those manuals.

Pics might further help as well as original vehicle spec (and if that instrument binacle is original to the vehicle)

Bob696:
its an original 110 (not a defender) V8 but with a RR 3.5 fitted. Dash is original as far as I can see. The lamp is red. It only comes on every 3-4 months or so. Tried to follow the wiring but got no where  :?

Needalanny:
What about a photo of dash warning layout. might help if see it.

Only light i have ever seen with a 5 in a circle was on a volvo. it was the overdrive (4speed + overdrive) but that was green.

Red light, so it is a warning light, but a 5 with broken circle round it. I'm sure its obvious when you find out.

All i can think of is if it is something to do with the V8.
What year is the 110?
Was the 110 originally the 3.5? Was it originally carb or V8.

have you double checked the VIN to check if it was an export model?
