mk1 shogun

(1/1)

discodevil:
i recently bought a mk1 shogun and i want to do a spring over axle lift on it....but......it has leaf springs on the back and tortion bars on the front.......Im not sure how to do this but......please, suggestions or answers asap

Thanks :D

MrShogun:
the torsion bar is the achilles heel of the shogun unfortunately, its requires a lot of work to change this set up, errr maybe a hilux axel/suspension swap or something??

Mudlark:
I'm currently looking into a 5" lift for the shogun/pajero range which is looking promising. The kit, which costs around £500-£600 plus possibly import duties, is basically a drop subframe type conversion for the front and a spring over on the rear.

Note this has been designed for the L200 but should fit the Mk1 (leaf sprung rear) with no problems

discodevil:
the 5" lift is too high for what im going for atm lol its gd but im only after 2" so i can get some bigger tyres on

Mudlark:
In that case you want to wind up the torsion bar to gain a 2" lift on the front and then fit OME +2" leaf springs to the rear - which are around £135 each from Devon 4x4 - doing a spring over gives you 5" on the back which'll be too much for you.

I've also heard that fitting a LWB leaf spring to a SWB will also give you a 2" lift  - however bear in mind weakened springs on second hand ones (my old LWB springs were beginning to look sad   )

http://millneroffroad.co.uk do the LWB leaf for around £60 each
