Windscreen top finisher - Disco 1
Chevster:
Hey all :D
Not sure if anyone's experienced the same problem here, but the top rubber finisher on my front winscreen has 'stood up' off the bodywork. It's not flush any more, & there's a long gap where the water can now collect.
My question is:
As this is a seperate part, no. AWR2025, available from Britpart, Rimmer Bros, etc. I'm assuming (assumption being the mutha of all F-ups) therefore, that I don't need to replace the whole windscreen just to get this part replaced?
Has anyone else any experience of this problem?! :?:
Cheers,
Kev
redhand:
I've got the same problem on my 93 disco1 the rubber hass cracked in the top corners below the gutters and they're all green and moss filled.
Didn't realise you could change just the top section though I was preparing to do a full seal replacement.
Range Rover Blues:
You both have the bonded windscreen (judging by your sig) and the rubber should be fitted to the glass before that is fitted to the car, so changing it now will be tricky.
doris:
I have just gone round my safari windows and top of windscreen with a hot melt glue gun (you can pick them up for less than a tenner in hobby or DIY stores).
I filled up the little gaps and cracks at the top corners of my screen with it too, and now my shed that used to leak like a sieve is completely dry inside.
The glue drys clear and is not really noticeable.
