300 Tdi manifold gasket advice

Hi,

Just about to have a go at sorting out an annoying leak next to cylinder 4 from a rather tired  manifold gasket. I know how the inlet manifold comes off and  I can just about see where the outlet manifold bolts are. Can anyone  tell me if I slip in a new gasket by just removing these bolts i.e without having to disconnect oil feed, air intake etc to the turbo ?

Thanks

Nick

Remove the inlet manifold, then remove all the bolts from the turbo manifold, and pull it off the head, you can just get the new gasket in place, dont forget to check all the surfaces are clean,  8)

Thanks for the speedy reply!
Good news - I wanted to avoid worrying about refilling the turbo etc with clean oil as per Haynes but was concerned that there wasn't enough freeplay in the pipes to bend the lot away enough. Will the whole lot drop down under the weight of the exhaust (should i perhaps unbolt this)?

solihull-mick:
You can leave the down pipe on , just tie back the turbo with some wire just to hold it out of the way, :)

Part of this thread shows you how to do it.
