Cleaning a V8 engine

OK, I know there are a million opinions about this but whats the best way?  Mine is generally grimy from mud and oil etc.

Thought about lightly soaking it in Gunk and then gently jetwashing it off - thoughts?

lash with gunk

use a hot power washer n blast it,keeping a tin of wd40 to hand for starting it afterwards

yep sounds about right...

yep gunk and a pressure washer

worked nicely on my rangies engine
