Always fun on this forum and great that landy owners jump up to help one another...but take this following tale as something to consider...

The following tale is completely hypothetical and never happened of course :)

My hypothetical statement to the police officer after almost being involved in a hypothetical accident and witnessing 4 cars hypothetically written off.....

Well officer, i was driving along the high street atat the prescribed legal limit when a complete lunatic raced out of a side road without stopping, wheelspinning and driving like a lunatic. Had i not emergency stopped he would have definately written my vehicle off injuring myself, my wife and my son.I recognise the driver he is a local 21 year old yob, no doubt trying to impress his 14 year old girlfriend and her 6 friends who were all in the car.
I ignored him as he raced away but imagine my surprise when not 2 minutes later i pulled up behind him at a narrow single track bridge with traffic lights on red. I proceeded to get out of my car and strode forward with the intention of asking his name and details so i could report him for dangerous driving, not wishing to get involved in any altercation.#
I was amazed when as i approached he pulled around the car infront, ran the red light and wrote off 4 cars coming legally across the bridge almost running over several pedestrians in the process..............

Had i posted this on here doubtless many would have agreed what a to**er, you were lucky he didnt hit you and agreed how dangerous he was acting, saying whats his number we'll keep an eye out... etc etc..

Hypothetically the above is very close to the truth but hypothetically I may not have got out to ask his name :)

But imagine the shoe was on the other foot and he had posted his 'version'

I accidentally cut someone up, i waved to apologise but the madman chased me down, i was terrified because my partner was in the car and when i arrived at a red light the maniac leapt out brandishing a weapon, i was too scared to see what it was but had no choice but to run the light , terrified for my life.......

Hypothetically he was a regular at this sort of driving practice and went down for 6 months and ordered to retake his test but to every story there can be two distictly different versions and vigilante justice may well backfire with all the good intentions in the world........

I remember a high profile bullying arguement at a local school, child disturbed and scared parents and friends ranting and raving...fortunately the bully had been intelligent enough to save all the abusive emails and texts from the so called victim..... :O

again two versions of the same events...

Cheers Steve

You are quite oblivious to the remarks made initially.
It is plain to see that trauma has occured.
I do not wish to proceed further, it will only cause the topic to be locked.

electricbluebadger:
ATT......

I think you'll find trauma can be a two way thing.... it is hard to judge with one side of events

another example..

Spent a lot of time working with a mortar locating team in Bosnia, lots of civilians ...women children etc were killed, the local ethnic group wre up in arms, we had to find these Serbs and render them unable to carry out more attacks. I was horrified at some of the attacks, babies a few months old in bits strewn across the local market place.... Serbs denying it all...yeah right

Truth was we eventually tracked down the assailants, it was the local muslims killing their own in order to try and make the Serbs look like murderers

It was a no win situation, with both sides constantly claiming to be the victims....

Do you therefore think we should have administered a swift bit of vigilante justice with a 5.56 having taken one version of events or perhaps we were correct to fully investigate....in the end its seems both sides had trauma caused....

Steve
