VIC display (again)
« on: February 17, 2007, 01:07:27 »
Has anyone any ideas about my VIC display telling me I have a brake light fault ?
The lights all work yet once I touch the brake pedal after starting the engine it bleeps and says there's a fault.
The display seems ok otherwise, just this annoying flashing display and a ding/bling noise everytime....  :?

I will deffo have to get a Haynes manual ... even if its only to cover up the display unit !
Pass the duck tape please !

Not recommended - we've had a spate of duff bulbs from Halfrauds - went over to Lucas bulbs and no problems.

Halfrauds didn't have any (522 capless) so I ended up at main dealer. £4 for three didn't seem too bad.
All sorted now and can blind the s*ds behind me when I brake !
5 x 21 watts is a lot of light !

I don't think Halfrauds had ever heard of the bulb I needed... wasn't listed at all. They have 75 different types of headlamp bulb, though I did notice that most were labelled as "for off road use only". Does that mean they are selling illegal conversions and covering their backs with that disclaimer on the packaging ?
