200TDi Common or not?

<< < (4/5) > >>

bullfrog:
It does not matter what engine was in it befor as long as the Tdi has bben fitted properly
I have had 200 and 300 retro fit RRCs and all have been fine.
Retro's are a lot cheaper that GEN as they are generaly older base models.
My current one is an 87/D with a 300 Tdi on a 5 speed ashcroft box
The 300s are smoother to drive as the turbo comes in sooner but generaly cost more to buy.
A 200 is fine and if fitted well and serviced will return around 28 Mpg if not more.
I have seen loads at the £1200 mark although not recently.
Hope that helps now go and buy one

Many thanks for the info.   The older ones with the selectable transferbox rather than the Borg Warner unit is far more preferable, so it looks like it shall be a retrofitted 200TDi.  :D

--- Quote from: "Rich_P" ---Oh, and if they never fitted the TDi, then what are these soft dash factory 300TDis that you see coming up? :P

He didn't say they never fitted the Tdi.  He said they never fitted the 200Tdi.  And afaik he was right.
