LPg and snorkle?
barnhill4x4:
I have recently fitted a mantec snorkle to me 3.5efi with drawthough single point LPG.
I have faced the intake backwards to avoid Ram Air, I have no running probs at all with it fitted apart from it using about 30% more gas!
If I take the front of the airbox off effectivley bypassing the snorkle my fuel consumption is back to norm.
Is this normal?
Ralph:
Try facing the top fowards. Rear facing could be causing a vacuum in the snorkle on overrun effectivly sucking gas back up the snorkle.
If the ram air effect causes problems you will have to use a round top.
solihull-mick:
The problem your having is the airflow or ram effect down the snorkle will open you air flow senser thus fooding the engine, as the last thread suggests try facing the snorkle rearwards, or out of the airflow somehow
Range Rover Blues:
Forget all this ram air nonsense, the physical length of the air intake is causing a slightly higher vacuum at the LPG collar so it's running rich. All I do is remove the front plate of the filter if I'd not expecting to go swimming and it runs a treat.

As matter of fact i can say by moving the snorkle rearfacing, a mates disco runs fine, forward facing and the airflow meter resistance goes mad when you reach 50mph or so, But im sure we are all adults on so thats the last from me on this subject, belive what you will
