From what I can tell :

STC965 : (Indirect Cable entry - Earlier Vehicles)
ICW500010 : (Direct Cable entry - Newer Vehicle)

The indirect type goes into the drum at the 3 o'clock position when viewed from the rear, the direct type goes in nearer the bottom of the drum.
