I think it is for putting the winch into neutral or drive so you can spool the cable out quickly instead of waiting ages for the motor to unwind it all.

Spot on.  There's a Warn XP in there and I need to be able to put in and out of freespool without being a contortionist.

I liked the thought of as much air reaching the big cooler and rad as possible, so cut out the middle and replaced with mesh.  Home made version of the LR Saudi grille  :wink:
