cost to fit 200tdi

tom38:
been quoted £2000 to supply and fit a disco 200tdi engine in my 90 this is to include the engine having a new head gasket and cam belt fitted does this seem a reasonable price or not as i have no idea ? :?:  :?:  :?

AbyssDJ:
you not fancy having a go at it yourself with the help of some mates? :) much cheaper... then you can spend the remaining £££ on something pretty

Tiki Al:
i've just had a 200tdi engine, box and back axle fitted and it cost me £1500

wish i'd done it myself now, though i've not got the space to do it so it would have to have been done in the street.

Leslie Henson:
Actually fitting the engine is the easiest part of the operation (I've done this conversion 4-times). Air filtration etc is the most awkward unless you buy ready-made pipes. You can also buy the downpipe conversion. There are a few fiddly bits that take up time, but with a bit a patience it's not beyond someone who's reasonably good with tools.
