ticking noise

iv e got a ticking noise from behind the rear offside dickie seat
sounds a bit like a flasher unit
but i got no lights turned on
it stops when i turn the ignition off
anyone had this problem before

You haven't got a relay tucked in there for trailer wiring have you? That's the area where it all connects to.

i havent looked yet but is that  where they are normally located
sounds like it could be that sort of noise
just thought someone else would have had this problem before

i had a similar problem in my old 200tdi
turned out to be one of the relays in either the trailer electrics or the caravn split charge system which was installed
its buried in the panel work behind the dikie seat

it was all unused on my car so i took it out
