Hi.

What Defender 110s can be had for £3,000-4,000?

lenrover:
depends on what spec your after- engine trim etc

If you go for a basic trim then a nice tidy 300 should be within your price reach or if you want a CSW a nice tidy 200tdi for around the same money

and if you want a V8 110   then you could afford to be VERY VERY picky at that price

Rich_P:
It would be ideally a TDi engine (preferably the 200 lump).  Although the V8 on LPG is not completely ruled out as an option.

I've trawled through the various websites and dealer sites, but the prices don't have any correlation.  Some people are asking what I consider to be silly money for something like an old TD when you can get a decent TDi for the same price.  So, that's why I've come here to ask about what can be got for that price range as I'm struggling to get a clear picture. ;)

EDIT: Oh, Len rover you're link could be better going into a text link as the URL is too long and stretches the page.

in fairness, they go ok on ebay, if you can get chance to look at it. ebay is avoided by a lot of people when it comes to cars i bought mine of there didnt even go and see it ,

just got the guy to confirm chassis and bluck head was ok and it didnt smoke to much and it was better than described.

i have noticed prices have shot up now thou , i bought over christmas

Muddy:
Personaly i wouldnt touch a TD, go for a Tdi in my opinion.

110's are generaly cheaper than 90's and i know of a slightly battered 110 h/t s reg last of the 300s going for under 4k.

Just treat it the same as if you were buying a series there pretty much weak in all the same areas.

On 300's try to get them hot hot as some have a tendacy to overheat a little.
