Fitting a new hood...
hobbit:
Best place to start is the front,
Fit window bar
then drop the hoop in behind the seat in
locate and fit the brackets loosely to the front top corners
fit the vertical plates at the back of the doors, a bit fiddly to get though though with the bolts
fit the top door supports to the front raila t the back and the plate at the front
Adjust and tighten, you may have to adjust the window clamps to get the door to sit even allround
You then drop in the other 2 hoops and connect the horizontals across them along the length of the tub
I dont bother with the clamps, makes it easier to open the back right up in the summer
Using wing nuts instead of ordinary nuts handy for stripping too
hobbit:
Hood is relatively easier with a 109 then an 88/lightweight
Place the body of the canopy over the main tub frame
lift the front up over the front window rail, hook the hoops in across the front of the window
when hooped in gently pull at the back of the hood to hold them in
go inside the cab and pass the straps round the front hoop and through the 2 hoops in the front window frame, pull them up to tension the front of the canopy
above the doors there are a set of hooks you will find the string down the side of the canopy hook them in and wrap the cord round the front hoop to tie off
tuck the top of the tilt in the rail in front of the vertical lip
Look inside the door at the front hoop. there are two straps, one either side of the tilt, loosely strap them round the hoop
Go to the back of the tub, you will see two straps on the tilt, they go down over the last hoop and buckle through the two flat hoops on the rear of the tub, pull these taut
go back round to the side of the doors, you should have some cord through the rings of the side of the tilt, Hoop the cord and loop over the front mounting on the tub, then continue the loops down the side of the tilt to the back, tie off the cord at the rear corners of the tub, through the larger hoops there
Around the top at the back of the tilt runs a cord that holds down the rear of the canopy as the cord comes down the rear hoop wrap round once then through the cord hole in the side of the tilt, round once more and tie off at the same point as the line along the side of the tilt
You then go round and tighten and adjust all the buckles around the lot to set it up taut
Also I think there may be some strappings int he tilt to tie it down to the hoops in a 109
I know its easy to say when you have done it, but Pics of mine are a bit difficult at the mo, as the tilt on thelight weight is a dutch army one, and the mountings are a bit different, and in my opinion better then the brit one
Batfink82:
