TINTED WINDOWS AND MORE ELECTRIC GISMOS THAN I CAN PLAY WITH.SHE HAS DONE 85.000 MILES AND HAS NOT GOT A MARK ON HER APART FROM A SMALL STONE CHIP ON DRIVERS DOOR :( (YES I HAVE BEEN OVER HER WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB) WASHED AND POLISHED HER 2X AND ONLY HAD IT A WEEK :) I BOUGHT IT PRIVATE AND ON BOTH OCCASIONS 1st TO SEE 2nd TO BUY THE PREV OWNER HAD WARMED HER UP PRIOR MY ARRIVAL.WHEN STARTING UP FROM COLD IF YOU GIVE A LITTLE THROTLE I HAVE NOTICED A LOUD CLATTERY SOUND  :!: THAT SOON GOES AWAY AFTER SHE STARTS TO WARM UP :) I AM CONCERNED  :( IS IT WORTH A TRIP TO MAIN DEALER?

Wanderer:
Might be a heater or injector. One cylinder not combusting properly until it heats up?

Paul:
Mine does the same from cold, It sounds like loose tappets but then goes
away after a very short time, Maybe it's a common thing or we both have
a problem.

Your new motor looks very very nice, I like the tinted windows too. 8)

Looked nice today parked near the church.

DIE BOK:
I HAVE A FRIEND WHO ALSO HAS A TD5 2001 :) , ONLY DIFFERENCE HIS IS AN AUTO AND NO NOISE WHEN COLD :?:  DO YOU THINK IS IT WORTH GETTING CHECKED OUT :?:

muddyweb:
Hard to know from a description, but my Td5 always rattled like an old tractor when cold... if you have a friendly LR dealer nearby and are worried... go and see the service manager and ask him to listen to it.   He ought to be able to hear whether it is the "normal" Td5 sound.
