300 tdi "T seals"

HI folks

Anyone changed these seals on a 300 tdi. They supposedly fit on No 4 crank bearing cap.....

Does the engine need to come out and be stripped down or can they be replaced in situ ??????

if its the seals i'm thinking of, they are at the flywheel end of the engine?
i'm pretty sure that to replace them properly is a crankshaft out job, which means engine out. :(
