Painting Chequer Plate

The pig currently has the bog standard silver grey stuff fitted. Now she has some nice black modulars i was thinking of changing the chequer plate to match
Has anyone painted their chequer plate? If i were to do it i would remove it and spray it to get a better finish.
Anyone got any pictures of theirs they have done?

Further to this thread are there any 'Paintshop pro' wizards out there who could tinker with a picture of the pig and show what it would look like with the chequer plate in black?

i painted dads c.plate on his defender i didnt use any primer and i used hammerite black paint worked a treat

we didnt do the wing tops as we didnt have time as she was up for sale but would have covered just the same :D
