Problems
shane413:
Hello people I have just recently purchased a sj 413! I know there has been a few topics about carbs on these! But went offroaded yesterday and went through a few puddles, ditches, mud etc: Then half way in the middle of no where it kept cutting out, Everytime I let go of the throttle it stalled! Just had a look at the carb today and cant really find anything wrong isit the carb! :(
Help please....
Many Thanks Shane

Yes just checked that now and its a little damp but just going to shoot and get new plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotary arm thingy! I was playing about with the screw on the carb but i dont know what I've done! How do you know when the mixture and air is right? :(
Cheers shane

hey mate ive got the same problem. theres a throttle srew on the front of the carb if you adjust it you can up the throttle the second one down, but it really annoys me as it wont stay at a decent rpm. mine has a problem with the choke it sticks so one min it'll cut out next it'll be at 2.500 rpm. let me know if you find a proper solution other than a su carb. cheers

there is no really any better way to fix the standard carb you really are better off fitting an su conversion to both sj's..
the trouble with the standard carb is there so complex its just to time consumming to find the fault
