When I start the disco up these days from cold it idles at 250rpm and will splutter and do nout else until I put foot on the gas and then it comes to life slowly and then idles at 750rpm. Anyone know why?

not dragging a bit of air in from somwhere is it ?. lift the boot carpet remove the inspection cover for the tank guage/pump and check the pipes that come out of the tank unit. have been known to corrode. alan....

Good place to start looking for air leaks is the filter near the back axle, pipes there tend to rust and become porous. Filter body can go the same way.

I'd say it's air in the fuel system, try the area's that the guys abouve have said, common place being the fuel sender on top of the tank.
