JUST A QUICK QUESTION

beatmasterdave:
yo, i got 235/70R16 BFGOODRICH Mud Terrains on my standard disco and they are really impressive! im guna lift the beast 2 inches, and seen pics of trucks with the same size tyres and they dont look odd at all. these BFs are a bit pricey but they will last for ever, so im guna probibly put wheel spacers on them, just so it looks a bit mean! haha! then later get 265s of if i got the dosh, mach 5 rims and fat 33inch black circles haha

i got em from www.tyretorque.com for £470 for 5, £93 each i think
but i since have found em cheaper at MM4x4
they are great on road aswell as offroad. i used to be a fencer, and the firm only used BFG muds.
hope this helps
good luck

beast5680:
I have 265/75x16,s on my disco with a spacer lift, that is spacers fitted under the springs.
at the minute i have only 1" spacers on but it is enough to allow the tyres some room under the arches, as i have them on standard steel wheels the offset is fairly small which means they will go up into the arches without fouling them, if you have a larger offset then they will foul and i would end up trimming arches etc. I had to camel cut the rear arches to allow for clearance but thats it so far

redhand:

--- Quote from: "chris.hunt22" ---I am looking at getting some 235/85/16 or 265/75/16 tyres for my disco, I haven't the wedge to do a suspension lift at the moment, if I get the tyres what problems will I encounter without a lift (I am going to put a 1" - 1"1/2 lift on soon)  I know i might have to chop a bit out of the arches but I can live with that

Click on the sticky at the top of this forum. it lists every available tire size and the mods required to fit them.

chris.hunt22:
Redhand, I had looked on their first but it doesn't mention any kind of suspension lift needed, my basic question is can I fit these tyres now and worry about a lift later.  The spring spacers sound a good idea but do you need new shock absorbers?  Will I need them with a 1" - 1 1/2" lift?  I am going to give the serious off roading a miss in the future as I have sustained a bit too much damage for a car I need to be reliable and in use every day by my wife but I am still going greenlaning.  Will it run as it is now with either 265/75/16 or 235/85/16 on my deep dish standard XS alloys if i do a camel cut :?

barnhill4x4:
235/85 16's will go on standard car with camel cut and front bumper plastics cut or removed, thats what I did.
